Mobil 1 works great

I have used Mobil 1 oil in everything from my lawn mower to my cars. The reason I started using this synthetic oil is because of an engine I had a chance to see apart, which was run using Mobil 1 and had a lot of miles on it. It was amazingly clean inside.
I had never seen an engine this clean that had been run this long while using standard non synthetic oils. I also noticed that overall cylinder and bearing wear was far less with Mobil 1 then with standard non synthetic oils. But, the catch is that you need to change this oil just like you would any other oil. I hear of people leaving synthetic oils in for extended mileages. But, even with this type of oil, you still have suspended byproducts of combustion which can cause long term engine issues. So, if you think you can leave this stuff in your car for 10K - 15K miles and have an engine last 200K+ miles, guess again. My advice is that if you plan to keep your car for well over 100K miles, you should use a full synthetic like Mobil 1. If you are the type who trades every couple years or so and who has no intention of keeping a car with over 100K miles on it, then you will probably be fine with standard type oils. As for using this in air cooled lawn mower engines and small generators, this stuff works great. I no longer have the valve issues and compression remains excellent even with many years and hours worth of use. Just make sure to use the proper weight for your application.

You CAN buy Motor Oil through Amazon

I purchased Mobil 1 Oil through Amazon because it was about the same price at the auto store, but I could get the product on at my doorstep. The packaging was good and very secure. Amazon is a great place for automotive items...even liquids!

Overall, Mobil1 synthetics are great. I switched over the synthetics after reading all the benefits and other review. I switched over all my vehicles and they are running smooth. One car was at 60k while the other one was at 15k. The idle on both cars is a lot smother after the switch.

If you have any doubts as to purchasing Mobil 1 oil online, I would say go for it!

I have always used dino oil when I've done my oil changes. My wife drives a 2006 Highlander with about 90k miles. I change the oil faithfully about every 5k miles with a quality brand oil and filter. I recently purchased a 2003 Ranger with 55k miles from a gentleman who used nothing but Mobil 1. While the Highlander has some sludge under the oil cap and within sight, the Ranger had absolutely no sludge at all. I've since switched to this for the Highlander. After the first change, it seemed to me the Highlander purred a little better. (Maybe that's in my mind, but the sludge observation is obvious.)

This is a good price though I've seen it priced per quart similarly at Target (in quart size) and at other auto parts stores on sale. If you live near a Blaines Farm and Fleet, it goes on sale for about $5.80 a quart.

UPDATE 8/17/11
Mobil is offering $12 rebate for purchase of 5 quarts at participating stores, $24 rebate for 10 quarts. Blaines also has it on sale for $5.99 a quart. Great deal. Sorry Amazon.
